Homer Nye

Instructor: Jennifer Halstead

Charity: Food Rescue

Raised in Galion, Ohio, Homer served as the pastor of The Presbyterian Church of Traverse City from 1977 through 2010 so he and his wife, Becky Mang, a retired geriatric nurse, call the Traverse area home. They enjoy the beauty, cultural opportunities, the energy of the community and its willingness to work together and reach out to others. Together, Homer and Becky have four daughters and have a continuing passion for Mission Outreach. They love to travel and have camped 25,000 miles across the U.S. and Canada in just under one year.

Homer graduated from Ohio University with a BA in chemistry and math and then from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary with a Master in Theology degree in 1970 and a Doctorate in Ministry in 1980. Homer's heart is deeply rooted in Food Rescue of NW MI that he and a few friends founded a few years ago and he's excited for new connections to new partners and potential donors.

Mission Statement

Putting the fun back in fundraising, SwingShift and the Stars Dance-off For Charity, provides unequalled philanthropic opportunity by creating a partnership between local charities and the community through high quality entertainment and friendly competition.

High Impact Productions, Inc.

Judy Harrison and SwingShift first took to the stage on May 18th, 2007 and have been entertaining local audiences ever since with their tight harmonies and dynamic choreography. The latest band in the High Impact Productions arsenal, SwingShift has all the high energy and fun of, ReBooted (formerly High Impact), Harrison's country/rock band, but with a unique, big band sound, not typical of the Northern Michigan music scene. Incorporating songs from both the swing era as well as some jazz and Latin favorites, the SwingShift musical repertoire will entice you to grab a partner and hit the floor.
